Job Description
We have an exciting opportunity for 2 people, who would be interested in UPVC window and door manufacturing. Our client has a brand new Factory in Christchurch city. This is a great opportunity to get stuck into a busy role! The fabrication program has already filled up right through to the new year, with new orders coming in fast.
This is a full-time opportunity, Monday-Friday working from 7:30 am - 5 pm. Saturdays are welcome but not mandatory.
The hourly rate starts from $25 p/hr (depending on the applicant’s experience in construction, joinery, or any relevant field) Weekly payments.

Key Responsibilities
- Read and interpret UPVC profile manufacturer’s “Fabricator’s Manual”
- Read and interpret production documentation for each job
- Read and interpret computer-aided drawings and plans
- Prepare UPVC profiles for individual jobs, taking materials from stock (profiles and other miscellaneous items)
- Cut UPVC profiles for items like windows, doors as per job requirements
- Mark and identify useful offcuts and placed them in their designated store locations
- Collect and place waste in their designated store locations (we recycle UPVC and steel waste)
- Measure and mark out drainage, ventilation and hardware positions for milling/routing as per window designs on job cards (open in, open out, vertical/horizontal mullions/transoms etc.)
- Measure and mark out transom/mullion positions
- Set up machinery and equipment for milling/routing
- Use hand, power and machine tools to drill, cut, mill and route frames
- Occasionally install glass into frames and add fittings like handles and locks
- Clean, inspect and package finished products for delivery
- Load and unload delivery vehicles
- Complete paperwork, including job sheets and quality assurance documents
- Record all labour time as required on timesheets and job sheets
- Make suggestions for better quality and more effective work methods
- Keep the workshop clean and tidy, cleaning and doing basic maintenance of machines as required
- Read, understand and follow all health & safety rules as per company policies.
Requirements
- NZ work visa or residence, or citizenship.
- Fit for work, reliable, and honest.
- 1-2 years of proven experience in construction, fabrication or in any relevant industry. References will be checked.
- Clean/acceptable police records.
